PRIVACY POLICY – WIMIT

1. Introduction

This privacy policy describes how the WIMIT application collects, uses, and protects the personal data of its users.

WIMIT is a community application allowing parents from the same school to help each other organize school trips, in a secure, responsible framework that respects privacy.

The protection of personal data, and in particular that concerning children, is a fundamental principle in the design of WIMIT, in compliance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

3. Personal data collected

WIMIT collects only the data strictly necessary for the operation of the service.

3.1 Parent data

• First and last name
• Email address
• Phone number (if applicable)
• Parent's photo or avatar (optional)
• Information related to the use of the application (trip history, interactions, community participation, trip credits)

3.2 Child data

• First name
• School
• School level (primary, middle school, high school)

No child photograph is required or used. Data concerning children is voluntarily limited to what is strictly necessary and is not subject to any commercial, advertising or profiling exploitation.

3.3 Location data

Geolocation is used only within the context of an ongoing trip and with the explicit authorization of the user.

It can be activated in the background for the duration of the trip to ensure the tracking and safety of participants, and is automatically deactivated at the end of the trip.

No permanent geolocation is performed outside of active trips.

4. Purposes of processing

The personal data collected is used exclusively for the following purposes:

• Allow registration and identification of parents
• Link users to a closed school community
• Organize, propose and track trips between parents
• Ensure the traceability and safety of exchanges
• Manage the trip credit system (Good Points) and community recognition mechanisms
• Ensure the proper functioning, security and moderation of the application
• Communicate with users about the service (notifications, trip-related information)

The data is never used for advertising purposes and is never sold to third parties.

5. Legal basis for processing

The data processing carried out by WIMIT is mainly based on:

• the execution of the service requested by the user,
• compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations,
• and, where required, the explicit consent of the user.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Access to the WIMIT application requires an active subscription.

This subscription allows the use of all the features offered in the application, within the framework of the school community to which the user belongs.

Payments are made exclusively via the following platforms:

• Apple In-App Purchase (iOS)
• Google Play Billing (Android)

WIMIT does not have access to users' complete banking information. Payments are processed directly by the platforms concerned.

7. Closed communities and data access

Data is strictly isolated by school.

• A parent only has access to the information of the communities to which they belong.
• Schools have no access to the personal data of parents or children.
• Exchanges and visibility between different communities are impossible.

8. Chat and moderation

WIMIT offers:

• a community space per school,
• exchanges related to confirmed trips.

These spaces may be moderated to maintain a respectful and secure environment.

WIMIT reserves the right to moderate or remove any inappropriate content and to suspend or restrict access to a user in the event of manifest abuse, in accordance with the General Terms of Use.

9. Good Points system and community recognition

The Good Points system aims to value mutual aid between parents within the same school community.

In this context, a WIMIT Class Council can discreetly and non-competitively honor the most committed parents over a given period.

These mechanisms:

• do not constitute in any way a remuneration or a direct financial advantage,
• do not rely on any commercial profiling,
• do not give rise to any automated decision-making producing legal effects within the meaning of the GDPR.

The data used for these purposes is aggregated and limited to strictly necessary usage information.

10. Data hosting and security

Personal data is hosted on secure infrastructures located in the European Union or offering guarantees compliant with GDPR requirements.

WIMIT implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to:

• protect data against unauthorized access,
• prevent accidental loss, alteration or disclosure,
• guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of information.

WIMIT may use technical subcontractors (hosting, cloud services, notifications), acting exclusively on instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

11. Data retention period

Personal data is kept for the entire duration of the user account's activity.

In the event of account deletion from the application, personal data is deleted as soon as possible, except for legal obligations imposing a limited retention of certain data.

12. User rights

In accordance with the GDPR, each user has the following rights:

• right of access to their personal data,
• right of rectification,
• right to erasure,
• right to restriction of processing,
• right to data portability,
• right to object to processing.

Users also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, in particular the CNIL.

13. Cookies and trackers

WIMIT uses only technical cookies and trackers strictly necessary for the operation of the site and the application.

No advertising, marketing tracking or profiling cookies are used.

14. Changes to the privacy policy

This privacy policy may be updated to reflect legal, regulatory developments or service improvements.

Users will be informed of any substantial changes.
