1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how WIMIT collects, uses, and protects personal data.

WIMIT is a community app that helps parents from the same school community support each other with school trips, within a safe and responsible framework that respects privacy.

Protecting personal data—especially data related to children—is a core principle of WIMIT’s design.

3. Personal data we collect

WIMIT only collects the data that is strictly necessary to operate the service.

3.1 Parent data

• First and last name
• Email address
• Phone number (if applicable)
• Parent profile photo or avatar (optional)
• Service usage data (trip history, interactions, points/credits)

3.2 Child data

• First name
• School/community
• School level (primary, middle school, high school)

No child photo is required or used. Child-related data is intentionally limited to what is strictly necessary.

3.3 Location data

Location is used only during an active trip. It is automatically disabled once the trip ends. WIMIT does not perform permanent or background location tracking.

4. Why we use your data (purposes)

We use personal data exclusively to:

• Create and manage parent accounts
• Link users to a closed school community
• Organize and follow parent-to-parent trips
• Provide traceability and improve safety
• Manage points/credits and community recognition
• Ensure app security, moderation, and proper operation
• Communicate with users about the service

WIMIT does not use personal data for advertising. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

5. Legal basis

Processing is based on:

• Your explicit consent during onboarding where required
• Performance of the service you request
• Compliance with legal and regulatory obligations

6. Closed communities and access control

• Data is strictly separated by school community
• A parent can only access information within the community(ies) they joined
• Schools do not have access to parents’ or children’s personal data
• Cross-community access is not possible

7. Chat and moderation

WIMIT provides a community chat per school and a trip chat for confirmed trips. These spaces are moderated to maintain a respectful and safe environment.

WIMIT may moderate or remove inappropriate content and may restrict or suspend accounts in case of clear abuse.

8. Points/credits and community recognition

Points/credits are designed to value and sustain mutual help within the parent community.
Each quarter, WIMIT highlights the most engaged parents through a “WIMIT Class Council”:

• 3 winners per quarter
• Reward options: a cultural gift card or donating the amount to the school

These mechanisms rely on aggregated usage data and do not involve commercial profiling.

9. Hosting and security

Data is hosted on secure infrastructure located in the EU or otherwise compliant with GDPR requirements.

WIMIT implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access and to ensure confidentiality and integrity.

10. Data retention

Data is kept while the account is active, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable time after account deletion, unless legal obligations require otherwise.

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

12. Cookies and trackers
